Business Development Executive

Start and grow your career with Communication Innovators, a full-service technology communications company based in the Des Moines area.  If you have a passion for sales, an interest in technology and are a self-starter, eager to learn all facets of our business, this is the position for you.

Communication Innovators addresses the technology demands of our customers by designing, installing and servicing a comprehensive list of communication platforms, from IP/Digital telephony, data networking, wireless systems, physical security, structured cabling and outside plant services.  The full slate of services we provide is unique in our industry and sets us apart from our competitors.

The selected individual will participate in our extensive six month training program, working closely with the Sales and Marketing Director to learn our products, customers, industry and sales strategies.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Prospect new business opportunities via cold calls, referrals and/or networking opportunities
  • Schedule appointments and presentations with prospective clients to demonstrate the value of product/solution/service offering
  • General sales quotes and proposals
  • Handle customer inquiries
  • Develop and implement plans for strategic growth in existing customer base by introducing new products and services
  • Gain and continuously grow knowledge of technology and communication products and vendors


Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Technology or related field
  • Technical knowledge of software, hardware or other technology
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Customer service orientation and collaboration skills
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated and persistent
  • Ability to drive to local customer sites
